Luxembourg at 3daysofdesign

The Embassy of Luxembourg in Copenhagen, together with representatives from kultur.lx – Arts Council Luxembourg and Design Luxembourg , participated in this year’s 3daysofdesign festival. The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Luxembourg’s cultural presence in the Nordic region and to explore opportunities for future participation in Denmark’s leading design event.
 

Throughout the festival, the delegation visited a wide range of exhibitions and showrooms across Copenhagen to gain insight into current design approaches, curatorial formats, and the overall structure of the event. These visits helped identify how Luxembourgish designers and institutions can engage with the festival in the coming years. The delegation also met with several Danish cultural institutes, where discussions focused on shared interests, potential partnerships, and the role of cultural exchange in fostering long‑term cooperation.

A key moment of the programme was the meeting with Luxembourgish designer Frank Michels and his partner at Geckeler-Michels, whose long‑standing presence in the Danish design landscape provided valuable perspectives on collaboration and visibility. In connection with their participation, the Embassy hosted a small capsule exhibition and reception featuring selected works by Geckeler-Michels. It offered invited guests an introduction to Luxembourgish design and illustrated possible avenues for showcasing Luxembourg’s creative sector within a Nordic context.

The visit laid a strong foundation for future initiatives, and the Embassy - together with its partners – looks forward to next year’s edition.
