“Europafestivalen”: Luxembourg at Europe Day in Stockholm

On 9 May, the Luxembourg Embassy took part in Europafestivalen for Europe Day in Stockholm, together with other European embassies, to inform the public and promote the cultural diversity of EU member and candidate countries. Throughout the day, the Luxembourg stand attracted many visitors, with particular interest in the brochure 100 Things to Do in Luxembourg, the Grand Tour of Luxembourg maps, the cycling route maps, as well as the study guides from the University of Luxembourg.

A small quiz about Luxembourg encouraged interaction with visitors and led to many positive conversations. The event was also a great opportunity to meet members of the Luxembourg community in Stockholm, as well as people who had previously lived or worked in Luxembourg.

As one of the EU’s founding Member States, Luxembourg attaches particular importance to celebrating Europe Day. The 9th of May is not only a symbolic date marking the Schuman Declaration, but also an official public holiday in Luxembourg - a reflection of the country’s longstanding commitment to the European project. Participating in Europafestivalen offered a meaningful opportunity to highlight Luxembourg’s engagement in European integration and to share this with Swedish and international visitors alike.
