Luxembourg at the Copenhagen Pride

For the second year in a row, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Denmark joined the official delegation of "Diplomats for Equality" for the 2024 Copenhagen Pride. This partnership brought together many diplomats from embassies and representations, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czechia, Cyprus, Estonia, the European Commission, the Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Through this event, the diplomats celebrate diversity and wish to promote the visibility of LGBTQI+ people and advocate for equality and acceptance of all. The collective Diplomats for Equality press release can also be found here (Pdf, 106 Kb).

This cooperation illustrates the need, despite the progress and rights acquired for LGBTIQ+ people, to remain united and continue commitments towards an egalitarian and united society, as the Minister for Gender Equality and Diversity, Ms. Yuriko Backes, herself expressed during the Luxembourg Pride March last July. The Embassy of Luxembourg in Denmark was therefore well represented at this event, with the presence of the Ambassador Henri Schumacher, the deputy head of mission Cátia Gonçalves and Justine Cammal, economic and political attaché.
